    The zone is situated about 160km away from the capital Sofia and 7km from the town of Pleven – one of the most important transport locations in North Bulgaria, offering both road and railway transport. Dolna Mitropoliya Municipality is located close to the Romanian border and is in proximity to big consumer centers like Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oriyahovitsa and Pleven. The Municipality’s central location is important for the future economic development of the region. The zone has a well-developed sewage system and also a water purifying station, which has the capacity to meet the needs of an industrial zone, employing more than 10 000 people.

    A single SME guide is published on the official website of the Ministry of Economy and enables entrepreneurs or representatives of small and medium-sized businesses to easily find guidelines for dealing with specific business situations that are tied to the regulations of the Republic of Bulgaria. The business situations/events presented in the handbook are identified by a survey of representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on the laws and administrative procedures that small and medium-sized businesses encounter most often and which respondents rate as the most complex from the start-up stage to the cessation stage.
