Belene Municipality with another won project Congratulations to the municipalities of Tutrakan, Belene, Vetovo, Gulyantsi and Byala, whose projects have been approved for funding as part of the first of its kind Integrated Territorial Strategy for the Development of the Romania-Bulgaria cross-border
The main objective of the Strategy is to ensure the development of the region by promoting tourism and cultural heritage, influencing all related socio-economic areas such as: tourist and cultural infrastructure, environment, human resources and educational system, business development, accessibility, etc. At the heart of the Strategy is the development of bicycle tourism, in particular on the EuroVelo 6 route, which passes through the region and reaches the Black Sea. The portfolio of projects of the Strategy includes the project concepts proposed for funding under the Interreg Romania-Bulgaria Programme, a reserve list of projects that could receive funding if funds are available, as well as a list of project ideas returned for improvement.
